Documounts carries two types of Crescent matboard: archival Crescent matboard and pH neutral Crescent matboard.

The archival Crescent matboard is called Crescent Ragmat.  Crescent Ragmat is made from 100% cotton rag, so it is naturally acid and lignin free.  This type of Crescent matboard is ideal for one-of-a-kind works of art and limited edition reproductions.  The archival Crescent matboard is available in 6 different varieties of white, all with a white core.

The pH neutral Crescent matboard is called Crescent Papermat.  Crescent Papermat is made from paper, which needed to be chemically treated in order to become temporarily acid-free.  Over time, the protective buffering of the paper Crescent matboard will wear off, and the mat will become acidic again.  Therefore, paper Crescent matboard is suitable for matting open edition reproductions, such as prints, photographs and posters.  The pH neutral Crescent matboard is available in a wide variety of colors in bright white core, off-white core, and black core.
