If you need a mat, frame & mounting that will protect and preserve your artwork, you should use an archival mat, a wood or metal frame & mounting board that is archival.  UV acrylic glazing will help to further protect your artwork.

If you are displaying open edition prints, then you can select pH neutral mats, any type of frame & mounting cut from pH neutral mount board.

If you are displaying inexpensive posters or photographs, you might want to consider using an economy mat, a simple frame & mounting such as an adhesive mount board.
