1. Standard acrylic glass sheets are crystal clear.
2. Non-glare acrylic glass sheets have a matte finish that minimizes the glare and reflection of the acrylic glass sheets.
3. UV Resistant acrylic glass sheets protect your artwork against the damage of UV rays by filtering out 98% of UV rays from both natural and artificial light sources.  UV rays damage artwork by causing fading and facilitating the aging process, so UV Resistant acrylic glass sheets are an excellent way to combat this problem.
4. Non-glare UV Resistant acrylic glass sheets have the benefit of both reducing glare and filtering out 98% of damaging UV rays.  Both types of UV Resistant glazing are ideal for conservation framing.

One of the most important reasons to choose archival plexiglass is because it will protect your artwork from fading and aging.  Archival plexiglass protects your work from the damaging rays of the sun.  With our UV Resistant archival plexiglass, 98% of the sun’s harmful rays are filtered.  Our Non-Glare UV Resistant archival plexiglass adds the additional feature of an anti-reflective coating for easier viewing.

At Documounts, we offer four crystal clear acrylic options to satisfy your framing needs.  However, only the UV Resistant and Non-Glare UV Resistant options are considered to be archival quality plexiglass.  The archival plexiglass we carry is made by Arcylite Acrylic.  Our archival plexiglass is 1/8” of an inch in thickness.  It can be ordered in any size, but we can only ship acrylic up to 28”x36” in size.  All of our archival plexiglass comes coated with protective paper.  When you are ready to frame your work, simply remove the protective paper to reveal the crystal clear acrylic underneath.
